It's time for break and it's essential for us to engage in activities that foster fun and adventure. Students, staff and families all deserve an activity that will help us shift from work to play. Our mental health and our productivity benefits from taking a break.  How will you use this time?  Change your scenery - Go for a drive or take a day trip. Craft or create - Refresh a space in your home or yard. Plan a long lunch with a friend or loved one. Go for a manicure, massage, smoothie or treat yourself to something special. Our students need strong outside involvement to help them succeed and thrive. Now that we are shifting to a bit more normalcy, we need the support of our communities even more than before. We need these communities to help with the healing and rebuilding of our confidence and involvement. When students and families feel involved, they have a sense of agency, control, calm and confidence.  It's important to seek out the community resources that are fitting for your student and family, in order to foster that sense of belonging and normalcy.   Memorial Wellness Weekly Newsletter   Parent/Teacher/Community April 11, 2021 Spring   Finding the time to do it all! It's time to get back to doing all of the things that we love. For most of us, Spring is the busiest time of year. We're working on home and year projects, spring sports, family gatherings and enjoying the warmer weather. There are so many things that are filling our days. The secret is to not do everything ourselves. Some might say, "if you want it done right, do it yourself". While that may be true in some cases, when the day is passing faster than a rollercoaster, you need help.  To better distribute the workload, you should try:  Reaching out to partners and children to do some small acts of service. Be more attentive and notice when your loved ones and friends need time to talk. Have a flexible mindset. If someone offers to help, they may have a different way to do the task but you should allow for some flexibility. Try some reverse psycho...

Spring forward, spring cleaning, spring break...spring is definitely a time of year that we are conditioned to look forward to renewal. Spring is a time of year that life seems to open up to us. It brings the energy of fresh and new ideas and experiences. We begin to make summer plans and get outside.  There is debate about whether or not Spring Fever is "real". The mood shifts and other experiences of many people are true. Increased sunlight and warmer weather is real. This does lead to a spike in mood and energy.
