Spring
Finding the time to do it all!
It's time to get back to doing all of the things that we love. For most of us, Spring is the busiest time of year. We're working on home and year projects, spring sports, family gatherings and enjoying the warmer weather. There are so many things that are filling our days. The secret is to not do everything ourselves. Some might say, "if you want it done right, do it yourself". While that may be true in some cases, when the day is passing faster than a rollercoaster, you need help.
To better distribute the workload, you should try:
- Reaching out to partners and children to do some small acts of service.
- Be more attentive and notice when your loved ones and friends need time to talk.
- Have a flexible mindset. If someone offers to help, they may have a different way to do the task but you should allow for some flexibility.
- Try some reverse psychology when you approach a task that you want to complain about. Try some positive self talk, even if it starts off a bit fake (fake it 'til you make it).
- Don't overtax or over book, if you can help it. You'll get it done, eventually. Self care still counts!! Get some natural Vitamin D...sunshine! 🌞

Meeting Our Needs:
You can only be the best version of yourself if you have a solid foundation.
The AAP recommends the following (healthychildren.org):
Children 6 to 12 years of age should sleep 9 to 12 hours per 24 hours on a regular basis to promote optimal health.
Children 6 years and older need 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity on most days of the week (free play and organized sports focused on fun).
The AAP recommends that families create a Media Plan in order to address the multifaceted impacts that all kinds of media and screen time have on children. Attached to this report is a Tip Sheet for parents on screen time. Additionally, create your family media plan here: https://www.healthychildren.org/English/media/Pages/default.aspx
